2012 - My First Blogging Year

Welcome to Stitching With Sue!  The Home Tab will have one message, this message.   Please ignore the date you see above!  In order for this message to appear, it needs to be the last one posted.  So...I'm good until 2014!

I hope you have enjoyed coming along with me this year as I learned new techniques and practiced my piecing skills and free motion skills.  Thank you for hanging in there with me!   So what did I accomplish in 2012?

I finished the quilt for the Perfect Points quilt.
I have completed all the blocks for the Half Square Triangle quilt.
I have completed the blocks for Craftsy Block of the Month and have the top put together and the back pieced.
All the blocks for the Funky Chicken are done.
All the challenge blocks for the Free Motion Quilting Challenge are done.
I completed my first ever paper pieced quilt.  And on this little quilt, I did an enormous amount of fancy FMQing.  Another first for me!
I put to use some FMQing designs and made 2 block keepers to corral all the BOMs/BOWs blocks.
I pieced a flannel quilt top.
I made jelly roll quilts.  One needs to have the quilting finished and the other is ready for quilting.
I started another jelly roll quilt.....
I completed several pages of the Foot Book project by Bernina.  This is an ongoing class at my LQS.

Wow!  That's not bad for the year.  Now what didn't I accomplish??

I did not finish the Modern Mystery Quilt.
I did not finish the Jelly Roll Christmas Quilt.
I did not finish the paper pieced Summer Couch Quilt.

What's the plan for 2013?  I hope you will come along with me again, as I finish what I didn't finish and continue with the Carol Doak Mystery Quilt and the two BlockBase BOWs.
I hope to be quilting my fool head off in the coming year, completing the quilt tops from 2012.  I have signed up for the Craftsy Class, Free Motion Quilting a Sampler by Leah Day.  She is using the Craftsy BOM for this class, so I will be following her lead to quilt this quilt.

I have committed to doing a simple, but unique embroidered quilt at my LQS which should last about 6 months.
I will be doing Craftsy's free 2013 BOM with Laura Nownes as our teacher, but I'm hoping I can resist signing up for any more BOMs and concentrate on quilting!!!

I hope you will join me again in 2013 for my adventures in sewing, embroidery and quilting!

Keep on Stitchin'!
